Choosing jewelry showcases is a balance between security, lighting and brand expression. This guide walks through the decisions that matter for a typical 80–200㎡ store, in the order you will actually face them.
Start from the store plan, not the catalogue
Before comparing cabinets, map the customer route: entrance, first display wall, center islands, service counter, checkout. Every showcase should sit on that route — not block it. A common mistake is buying beautiful towers first and discovering they squeeze the walking aisle below 90 cm.
Glass: clarity and protection together
- Ultra-clear tempered glass — default choice for decks and fronts; it shows metal true to color and resists impact.
- Laminated glass — for high-value items; it holds together when broken and resists smash-and-grab.
- Anti-reflective coating — worth it under strong ceiling lights; customers see jewelry, not reflections.
Locking systems
Ask for locks by use case: front-loading decks for daily service, rear doors for restocking, and cash-transfer drawers for high-value trays. Quality cylinders matter more than lock count — a cheap lock on a ten-thousand-dollar cabinet is a false economy.
Lighting temperature
Standardize one lighting temperature across the store, then deviate deliberately: 3000K flatters gold and warm stones, 4000K suits steel and diamonds. Mixing randomly makes the space feel unstable and cheapens both metals.
Leave room to change
Choose modular counters and wall systems with adjustable shelves. Seasonal collections, pop-up collaborations and buy-back events all need display space you can rebuild overnight — without construction dust.
